Some players stack their pedals to find their sound, others just build it right into the box.
The Clover Compressor is a two-in-one compressor/boost, built around control and a little bit of luck. The two might share the same place but they are not locked into the same path. Flip the order switch and choose your approach, tighten things up before the push, or kick in some luck and the the compression rein it back in.
At the heart of the clover is a THAT 4315 audio engine. This RMS-based design follows your playing naturally, smoothing things out without flattening the life out of your signal. Under the hood, there is more range than you might expect. Internal trimmers let your set the compression threshold anywhere from -40dBu up to 0dBu, and can dial compression gain anywhere between +-20db. It can be subtle and transparent, or pushed into something far more assertive depending on how you set it.
The boost channel is labeled "Luck" for a reason. One knob, straight to the point. It's an op-amp gain staged inspired by the gain section of the Snake Wine Fuzz, it can be clean when you want, but capable of adding grit and edge when you need it.
Each side is independently switchable and run in series. You can change the placement of each effect with the external slide switch on the left side of the enclosure.
A four leafed clover doesn't guarantee anything. But it doesn't hurt to have one on your board.
Controls:
Level: Post compression gain stage which can add back some signal lost.
Attack: Determines how rapidly compressor begins to reduce audio volume once a signal crosses the threshold.
Release: Determines how rapidly compressor stops reducing gain after signal falls back below threshold.
Ratio: Blends between compression ratios, either 1:1 or inf:1
Boost: Series channel boost control.
Internal Controls:
Threshold: Determines the starting point of where compression begins. Ranges between -40dBu and 0dBu (8 - 775mV Rms)
Gain: Compensation gain control.
Top Mounted I/O
+9v Center negative supply
Dual Footswitches with order switching
